Moose, also known as elk in Europe, is the largest species of deer and is found in the northern parts of North America, Europe, and Asia. These majestic creatures can weigh up to 1,800 pounds and stand up to 6.5 feet tall at the shoulders. They have a distinctively long and broad muzzle, large ears, and a distinctive flap of skin, known as a “bell,” that hangs from their neck. Both male and female moose have antlers, but the males’ antlers are significantly larger and more elaborately branched, making them a formidable sight during mating season. Moose are herbivores and are primarily browsers, feeding on leaves, twigs, and bark.
