Jessica Jones is a fictional superhero and private investigator in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos, Jessica Jones made her first appearance in the comic book series Alias. She is known for her no-nonsense attitude and superhuman strength, as well as her struggles with PTSD and trauma. In the Netflix series, she is portrayed by Krysten Ritter and is a central character in the Marvel Defenders series.
