Colossus, also known as Piotr Rasputin, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Len Wein and illustrator Dave Cockrum, Colossus first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 in May 1975. He is a mutant who possesses the ability to transform his body into organic steel, granting him superhuman strength, durability, and resistance to injury. Colossus is a member of the X-Men and has been an important character in many storylines, including the Phoenix Force saga, the Age of Apocalypse, and the battle against the Juggernaut. He has also had romantic relationships with fellow X-Men Kitty Pryde and Domino.
